How much would a princess cut diamond ring cost from tiffany's?

I want to buy my girlfriend a princess cut tiffany engagement ring but I don't know how much to expect to spend there for what I want. The diamond I want for her is 1ct, ideal in cut, F grade of color, and VSI in clarity. Thanks for the help|||I just purchased a D IF 1.16ct princess cut for $13,950 in 18kt white gold

That is quite a bit heavier of a stone, 3 grades up in clarity, 2 grades up in color as well as being set in a Tiffany style solitaire ring setting.

You can definitely do better than Tiffany's, if a sony tv under a specific make and model costs $5000 at one store, the same make and model shouldn't be $9000 at another store because the store is prettier.

I was told be the certified appraiser I brought my diamond to, just to have it checked out to make sure it was what I bought it as, that Tiffany's typically charges as much as 30% over appraisal value.

Make and model = color %26amp; clarity, grade for grade you should find the best price

Do a bit more digging before you bite the bullet.|||Truly you're better off going elsewhere. Tiffany is a brand name and as the previous user has said, you're paying a few thousand for the brand name and the stamp and the script on the diamond.

You could expect to pay roughly $2-3,000 less than Tiffany at a local Manufacturer for a diamond that grade.

Please bare in mind that clarity isn't what you need in a diamond, unless you really want the 'brand'. Clarity of a diamond goes from FL (flawless), VVS (very very slightly included), VS 1-2 (very slight), SI 1-2 (Slightly included), I (Included). Anything lower than SI means you can see the inclusions in the diamond with your own eyes. Anything SI and above you can't see the inclusions without a 10x eyeglass, and it's not like your girlfriend's friends will pull one out to look at the diamond.

If you drop the clarity of the diamond to SI 1, you can cut a nice amount off the price.

The cut you want is a good idea, but feel free to step down to Very Good in standard, or Excellent, to save your money. Think about it this way, Tiffany is an international company, and a lot of their engagement rings are Cast (melting metal and pouring it into a mould like water into a shaped ice cube block) which make them slightly weak and porous. The local Manufacturer, who operates by word of mouth (don't go to someone who doesn't) would look after you for less of the money for the same quality of diamond and ring (if not better, as hand made jewellery always lasts longer)

Whichever you choose, I wish you the best of luck. Princess cut diamonds are beautiful.

Also, beware of online jewellery. Once again, often the jewellery is cast and weak.|||Hi Sean, you can expect to upwards of $15,000 in Tiffany's. I'm sure if you go onto their website, they'll be able to provide you with a quote. Bear in mind that Tiffany's is a brand, so you are paying a certain amount for the name and the blue box it comes in. There are many other online retailers who also provide excellent quality solitaire rings at a lesser price. It just depends upon what is important to you. Good luck with it.|||http://www.tiffany.com/Engagement/Browse.aspx?mcat=148203#f+0/1002/0/3001/0/3001 go her and choose everything and it will tell you the price.
