What cut would most jewelers classify Tiffany's diamonds?

The salesperson told me that all of their diamonds are a Tiffany's cut, meaning there is little variation across different price ranges. He also mentioned something about the patent defining ideal cut having been expired, that its definition is no longer universally agreed upon.





It doesn't make sense for Tiffany's to sell poor quality cuts, but I just got nervous that the salesperson wouldn't answer what cut other jewelers would classify their diamonds as.|||most people have herd of tiffany's so its a selling tactic|||Interesting that you are paying a premium for a diamond from Tiffanys but the sales person cannot answer this question. There is a trademark registration on Tiffany. But Tiffany does not own the 鈥榩atent鈥?to their cut. It is a Lazar Kaplan ideal cut diamond. If you are concerned about light performance, brilliance and scintillation - then your best bet is to go for a diamond cut by Hearts on Fire or an A CUT ABOVE diamond - more info on cut is located in the links.

My, how they were gorgeous! I've seen diamond rings before that but none as beautiful as the ones from Tiffany (there are probably some better ones out there with other amazing brand names...) I don't think you should be too worried. And I don't think Tiffany advertises their 4Cs too much either...|||You are right to be nervous. Never buy from a person who won't tell you the straight truth.
